GIS 301 Tools for Analysis

This course will cover tools for raster and vector data analysis. Basic statistical concepts and how to create a good map and tips on locating data. It will cover classification types, interpolation, creating a query and working with Digital Elevation Models. 
Students should be familiar with Projections, Coordinate Systems, Raster, Vector, Points, Lines, Polygons, Shapefiles, Attribute Tables, Creating polygons from Legal Descriptions, Adding Data from Excel Spreadsheets , Interpolation and Spatial Analysis. Once completed students will be able to create a map from start to finish including finding data, performing basic analysis and making it ready for presentation.
